A multi-agency law enforcement operation resulted in 22 arrests and the seizure of large amounts of illegal drugs during a coordinated effort targeting fugitives and narcotics activity in the Georgia-Alabama region.
According to the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, Operation Safe Streets was carried out by several agencies, including the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Collaborative Intelligence Group and Special Operations Unit, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Phenix City Police Department.

Authorities claimed the operation concentrated on wanted fugitives and ongoing drug investigations in Muscogee and Russell counties. Overall, law enforcement cleared 55 outstanding arrest warrants.
During the operation, officers confiscated 88 grams of fentanyl, 4.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.45 pounds of cocaine, and 1.9 pounds of marijuana. Officials believed that the overall street value of the pills was more than $522,000. Investigators also stated that the fentanyl discovered had the potential to kill tens of thousands of people.
In addition to the drugs, officers seized eight guns, two vehicles, and almost $11,800 in cash. A stolen vehicle was also seized.
Authorities said individuals arrested are facing a variety of accusations, including drug trafficking, firearms offenses, probation violations, and other serious crimes.
The investigation is underway.
