Winning $570K lottery ticket sold in Maryland

A lucky lottery player in Howard County is holding a ticket worth $570,000 following the Multi-Match drawing on Thursday night, Maryland Lottery officials have announced.

The winning ticket for the April 16 drawing was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 8251 Snowden River Parkway, Columbia. The winning numbers were 2, 6, 8, 12, 29, and 38. This is the second time this year that a jackpot-winning ticket was sold for the in-state game.

The winner now has an option between two payment formats. They can choose between a $570,000 annuity paid out in 25 equal annual installments or a single cash payment of approximately $250,000 before taxes.

The Columbia winner follows a $1.7 million Multi-Match jackpot claimed on March 19. As of April 17, that ticket, sold at Abell’s Tavern in Callaway, had yet to be claimed.

Lottery officials advise the winner to sign the back of their ticket immediately and keep it in a secure location. Winners in Maryland have 182 days from the date of the drawing to redeem their prizes.

Because the reward is more than $25,000, it must be claimed at the Maryland Lottery offices in Baltimore. This can be done via mail or in person at the Montgomery Park Business Center on Washington Boulevard; however, all in-person claims require an appointment.
