Prosecutors say a traffic stop by New York State Police stops a large drug shipment from New York City from reaching the Capital Region’s streets.
According to the indictment, on March 1, at 7:42 p.m., New York State Police conducted a traffic stop on Washington Avenue Extension and discovered 16,5000 glassine envelopes packed with fentanyl and heroin in the car.

Ramon Riveras, 35, of the Bronx, has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled narcotic.
Rivera pleaded not guilty and was sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
The case was investigated by the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team.
