A woman is spending an additional 45 days in jail for bragging about sneaking fentanyl into the Lake County Jail.

A female inmate stopped a detention deputy working at the Lake County Jail and asked to talk with him, according to an arrest record from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. She instructed him to keep an eye on cell 51, which contained 35-year-old Tiffany Danielle Skidmore.

“She told me she never got strip-searched in booking and snuck in her fentanyl,” the inmate informed the guard.

The detention deputy then assembled additional female detention deputies and proceeded to cell 51 to strip search Skidmore and her cell. While waiting for supervisors to transport her to booking, the deputy discovered a menstruation pad with a pink baggie holding two little blue baggies filled with a white powdered substance. He quickly confiscated the pad and reported his findings, according to the article.

Skidmore was taken to be scanned by an X-ray machine and strip-searched, which turned up nothing. She was eventually returned to her cell pending infractions for possession of contraband and disruptive behavior, according to the report.

Another jail officer who helped with the search questioned Skidmore about what was in the plastic bags. She said that it was crushed Xanax. She acknowledged concealing it on herself when she was arrested, according to the report.

This incident was reported to LCSO detectives on Monday. The baggies were presented as evidence and tested. According to the article, one was proven to be fentanyl, while the other tested negative for narcotics.

The detectives then proceeded to the jail to question Skidmore. She stated that she did not bring in the narcotics when she was booked but rather purchased them from another female inmate who had recently been freed. According to the allegation, she did not know the inmate’s identity but purchased narcotics for two Nutty Buddies and a Swiss cake.

Skidmore assumed the narcotics were Xanax, but the convict told her the baggies contained fentanyl. According to the report, she concealed the narcotics in a feminine pad inside a green bag given to her when she was booked into jail.

The Indiana native was charged with introducing contraband into a county jail and possessing fentanyl. These were added to her previous accusations of possession of cocaine (less than 28 grams), drug paraphernalia, and fentanyl. The bond was set at $5,000.
