According to court records, Corona sold a package containing nearly a pound of pure methamphetamine for $2,850 in March 2021. When federal authorities and Frio County sheriff’s deputies searched his home a month later, they discovered additional methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a revolver loaded with ammunition.

A further investigation found that Corona was paid $1,500 per trip to transfer the narcotics.

Corona pled guilty to a superseding charge in May and was sentenced on August 13 by United States District Judge Jason K. Pulliam.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Frio County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety all conducted investigations into the matter.
