Kody Richard Jensen, 23, of the Portland area, has been sentenced to 21 years and 3 months in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of assault and sexual abuse against two different women. Jensen was sentenced to 130 months in Multnomah County Circuit Court on August 22 for acts of domestic violence against the first victim, which included rape, sexual abuse, assault, harassment, and coercion. On August 7, he was sentenced to 125 months in prison for violence against another woman, including coercion, kidnapping, assault, attempted assault, and witness tampering, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
Judge Kelly Skye ordered the sentences to be served consecutively, revealing a pattern of abusive behavior by Jensen, who physically and emotionally abused his victims. In the latter instance, facts emerged about Jensen’s violent inclinations, including reports that he physically restrained one of the victims and disfigured her by beating her with a phone.

While Jensen was tried and acquitted on some charges in a third case, his convictions serve as evidence of his repeated violent actions. Deputy District Attorney Mihnea Moga, who prosecuted the cases, praised the women’s courage in confronting their abusers in court. “I commend the victims for their bravery in coming to court and confronting their abuser throughout these trials,” Moga said via the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. ”
I am very pleased with the result and hope that this sentence provides them with some consolation that the defendant was held accountable for his horrific actions.” This opinion emphasizes the enormous hurdles that victims confront in obtaining justice, as well as the need for accountability.

In one case, the sentencing document revealed horrifying details about Jensen’s depravity, as he continued to beat the victim even after she managed to escape an initial assault.
