Brodyn Thatcher and Caden Mauchley went fishing at the dugout on the logan river late last week on Thursday, September 21. The logan has been producing many brown and rainbow trout according to Brodyn, he says maybe if you’re lucky you’ll catch the occasional cutthroat. They are using their fly rods to catch these fish, on these chilly fall nights of late September.
From the few but productive times that these two have been out on the river, they have been slaying these fish on big black streamers and big bugs, says senior Brodyn Thatcher. These fish are typically a cold water species so given the time of year and day they are typically tucked in the bottom of the deepest holes says avid fly fisherman Caden Mauchley. If you are hoping to get out on the river anytime soon “do it” says Brodyn. These fish are on right now like no other.
