A Miami woman was arrested on Monday, weeks after her son was hurt in a shooting, police said.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, officers were summoned to the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 32nd Street on the night of December 19 to investigate a car that had collided with a pole.

When cops arrived, they discovered a man named Donoven Patterson in a black Chevy Malibu with a gunshot wound to his back.
He was then sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
According to the arrest report, officers determined that, before to the incident, Patterson’s mother, Carmen Patterson, 47, went to the 3800 block of Northwest Second Avenue and hit a woman in the face without provocation.
Officials reported that the two women engaged in a struggle for approximately two minutes prior to their separation.
According to the report, the victim informed officers that she and Carmen Patterson had been feuding for nearly a decade about a deceased guy with whom they had previously dated.
According to police, after the incident, Carmen Patterson and her son retrieved weapons from their vehicle and fired into a big crowd, aiming for the victim.
Surveillance video from a nearby business shows Donoven Patterson falling to the ground and crawling out with the assistance of his mother, according to investigators.
As of Tuesday, authorities had not confirmed who shot Donoven Patterson or whether he would face charges in the incident.
Carmen Patterson was arrested on Monday and reportedly requested legal representation.
She is charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, using a firearm to conduct a felony, aggravated assault with a firearm, criminal mischief, battery, and unauthorized discharge of a handgun in a public place.
Carmen Patterson was still being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Tuesday morning. According to online jail records, her bond is “to be set.”
