Arizona AG: Man Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison For Role In $10 Million Retail Theft Ring

Prosecutors in Arizona have announced the sentencing of a man involved in a multi-million dollar organized retail crime ring.

According to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Adam Polansky was sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a ring that stole almost $10 million in items from local companies over a seven-year period.

“With organized retail crime still on the rise, I want criminals to be on notice: if you are victimizing an Arizona retailer, my office will find you and hold you accountable,” said AG Kris Mayes. “Organized retail crime impacts Arizona retailers, consumers, and community members who simply want their local neighborhood shops to feel safe again. Rest assured, it’s a top priority at the Attorney General’s office.”

In a news statement, the AG’s office stated that its special agents collaborated with loss prevention partners at stores to identify Polansky as a “booster,” which the FBI classifies as a professional shoplifter.

Prosecutors stated that the crimes occurred between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2024. Polansky reportedly received $4,357.12 in payments from a fencing facility, which is a store that sells stolen goods.

In total, a loss prevention investigation tied Polansky to almost $18,000 in reported thefts.

In November 2025, Polansky pleaded guilty to organized retail theft, trafficking stolen property, and illicit business operations.

Polansky was also had to pay $18,598.38 in restitution.
