Four people were apprehended and drugs and firearms were confiscated during a law enforcement operation in Ellisville on Monday, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.
According to authorities, a search warrant was conducted at an East Oak Street residence following neighborhood concerns and a lengthy investigation by narcotics investigators.
During the search, officers discovered 6.4 ounces (181 grams) of methamphetamine, 14 grams of powder cocaine, and 22 dosage units of ecstasy. Deputies also discovered two weapons, one of which was reported stolen from Laurel.
Brandon Barnes, 41, is accused of trafficking methamphetamine and possessing controlled substances; Elizabeth Garcia is accused of trafficking methamphetamine and possessing a stolen firearm; Desmond Evans, 32, is accused of possessing methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm; and Bridgette Jefcoat, 45, was arrested on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant.
Authorities stated that the inquiry is underway.
