A multi-agency drug investigation has led to the arrest of 20 people accused of operating a drug trafficking network across metro Atlanta and middle Georgia, according to authorities.
The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation, which included the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and other local agencies, revealed an organization reportedly run by Brandon “Twin” Williams and Gregory “Chuck” Dodson.

Investigators claim the organization distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and other illegal substances throughout Spalding, Fayette, and nearby counties. Authorities also suspect a link between the organization and fentanyl overdose deaths in Spalding County.
Officials allege that Williams and Dodson, both 35 and from Clayton County, used residences in DeKalb and Clayton counties to distribute significant amounts of drugs to traffickers, who subsequently redistributed them around the region.
During the inquiry, agents carried out over 30 search warrants. Authorities said they seized more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, prescription drugs, and several guns.
Williams and Dodson are charged with violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, unauthorized telecommunications, and conspiracy to sell methamphetamine.
Additional charges against the accused include trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute, and firearms-related offenses.
“Williams and Dodson thought they were untouchable because they distanced themselves from where they lived,” said Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix. “With the strong relationships between our law enforcement partners, we have some pretty long arms.”
The investigation is underway.
