According to court records, beginning in May 2022, Cannon willfully conspired with people in Maine and New York to illegally purchase weapons from federally licensed dealers in central and southern Maine through proxy buyers who could pass the appropriate background check.

According to records, two of the co-conspirators in Maine would arrange for the purchase of firearms, while Cannon would deliver or arrange the transfer of illegally obtained guns to co-conspirators in New York.

In September 2022, Cannon was discovered in possession of a gun from one of the sales.

He is forbidden from carrying firearms due to a prior felony drug conviction.

After being released from prison, Cannon will serve three years of supervised release.
