The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for many Oklahoma counties, including Oklahoma City and Norman, through 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday.
Heavy rain and storms may cause flooding. A flash flood warning is also in force for sections of Cleveland and Oklahoma counties until 7:52 a.m. CDT, since flooding has already begun in certain areas and might worsen, according to NWS Norman.
Residents in Oklahoma City, Norman, and surrounding regions could expect more showers and thunderstorms, particularly before 9 a.m. The skies will progressively clear, resulting in a pleasant high of around 85°F. Winds will remain light, at 6 mph from the southeast.
Tonight will be mainly clear, with a low of about 66°F.
For those looking ahead, the NWS Norman predicts a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms throughout the week.
By Wednesday, the high is expected to be around 72°F. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast from late Wednesday through the weekend.
Despite a few storms, residents should expect generally sunny skies by Friday. However, there is still a 40% probability of thunderstorms on Friday night. Winds could also increase, reaching up to 26 mph by Tuesday.
