UPDATE: Teen girls apprehended in connection with Jackson homicide on Cooper Road

UPDATE: Detectives have apprehended Carniya Randolph and Candice McVeigh in connection with this investigation.

Both suspects were charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder and received no bond during their appearance in Municipal Court on Tuesday. Detectives expect to make additional arrests as the investigation continues.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Jackson Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 900 block of Cooper Road after an unnamed male was shot at the scene.

According to Interim Police Chief Tyree Jones, the suspect(s) escaped, possibly in a white Honda sedan.

The victim was identified as Melvin Bass.
