At approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 15, 2026, officers responded to reports of possible catalytic converter theft suspects in a white van in the downtown Los Angeles area.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers discovered the vehicle around Venice and Olive and requested additional resources, including an air unit and a supervisor, before following the van onto the 10 and then the 110 Freeway.
The incident ended around 23rd Street and Flower Street, where authorities made a stop and arrested two male suspects at gunpoint.
Authorities found at least one catalytic converter, a battery-powered saw, and other suspected burglary equipment, as well as electrical conduit with wire inside the vehicle.
The investigation is underway.
