A Florida mother was taken into custody after allegedly attacking her 12-year-old son after he suspected she was cheating on his stepfather.
Lucianny Lizbeth Luna has been charged with one count of child abuse that caused no harm, according to Miami-Dade County court records.
Luna, 32, was arrested on Thursday, April 16, after her son informed school officials about injuries she allegedly caused, according to a criminal complaint and arrest affidavit reviewed by Law & Crime.
The school reported the claims, and a police officer and a child protective services representative came to the school. Police reported that the youngster suffered “a contusion with lacerations on his left face next to his left eye.
“The youngster told officials that he was hit by his mother the day before, which caused his injuries. “The defendant picked him up from school,” the charging complaint claimed. The defendant then began driving him to Gwen Cherry Park, where they would practice. The defendant was on the phone with a man he thought was his mother’s adulterous partner.
Luna apparently told the guy, “I’m taking him to the park to play,” but the youngster interjected, saying, “I’m not going to play; it’s just so the coach can go pick me up.” The defendant then slapped the victim in the face with her right hand, smacking him in the center of his face,” the officer wrote, according to the site. “I noticed a little bruise between his eyebrows. The defendant then seized his hair, tugged it, and beat him in the back of the head about eighteen to nineteen times with a tiny glass bottle.”
The youngster stated that the back of his head was “sore,” but not injured.” The victim stated that after he was hit, he felt shocked and froze for a moment, and the defendant began to shake him,” the prosecution statement read. The victim claimed that when they got closer to his house, she attempted to slash him with her keys. The victim attempted to parry the hit, but the key stabbed him in the right palm. I noticed a minor laceration on his right palm.
When he entered the house, the boy informed his stepfather that Luna “was on the phone with the other man.” According to police, the stepfather stated that he was “tired of you doing this” and “instructed the victim to go take a shower.”
After the boy’s shower, the stepfather requested him to “repeat what he had told him earlier.” “While the victim was in the middle of a sentence, the defendant struck him on the left side of his face, causing an injury near his eye,” the complaint stated. “The defendant then slammed the victim into the wall. “The victim started to run away from the defendant, but [his mother] grabbed his towel and held him back.”
The stepfather then interfered and held Luna back, allowing the youngster to flee to his room. After the boy left, Luna allegedly made threats. The defendant was outside his door, saying to the victim, ‘I want to murder you,'” the complaint read. “You’re not my kid. Come out the door, and I will kill you with whatever I have. The victim then phoned his aunt.”
During an Instagram call, the youngster showed his aunt his injuries and requested that she contact his grandparents to take him up because he was afraid. The aunt later met with the police and confirmed the boy’s story.
When police approached Luna about the incident, she “admitted to hitting the victim several times on the back, once with an open hand, and could not recall the subsequent strikes,” according to the charging complaint. She denied “hitting him in the face or on the back of his head.”
Luna has now been arrested and lodged in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She posted $5,000 bond on Friday, April 17.
