Five inmates were hospitalized after an incident at a Mississippi prison, according to officials.
According to a representative for the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), the incident took place on April 20, 2026, at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (CMCF) in Rankin County and included numerous inmates.
Officials say five inmates were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. They stated that three of the five inmates had now been released.
MDOC did not disclose any additional information regarding the occurrence.
