Powder Puff Homecoming Game

During homecoming there is the tradition of having a powder puff game. This year at Ridgeline it’s the third annual game. The first ever powder puff game was played, October 20, 1945, at  Eastern State Teachers College, which makes this the 73 anniversary of the first powder puff game. The name powder puff comes from the soft material used to apply makeup.

To start off the powder puff game, the Juniors won the coin toss. Halle Livingston had a great fake to get the Seniors their first touchdown. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 6-0 with the Seniors winning. At the start of the second quarter Abbie Kotter from the Juniors makes a 56 yard touchdown. They also get the 2 point conversion to put them in the lead. At halftime the score was 6-8 with the Juniors in the lead. The Hawkettes performed an amazing halftime show which had everyone on their feet!

In the third quarter Abby Rowell got a touchdown for the seniors. Brooklyn Anderson got the two point conversion for the seniors. Then Abbie Kotter had another touchdown with a fake pass. The game was tied at 14. Then Halle Livingston had a touchdown for the seniors. They also got the two point conversion by Katie Schwab. With 18 seconds left and less than a yard to go juniors get a touchdown. But that was not enough to win and the game ended with the score 20 to 22.
